iPad Pro 2 Release News: Apple To Increase 10.5-inch iPad Pro Production Ahead Of JuneWWDC Launch By Harsh Soni h_soniji@rediffmail.com | May 20, 2017 01:54 PM EDT Apple remains optimistic about the future of iPads, although the iPad sales have been declining consistently for almost three years. Apple iPad Pro 2 has been in news since the beginning of this year. The Cupertino-based tech giant will reportedly boost the production of its upcoming 10.5-inch iPad Pro, making the launch of the new form-factor tablet over the next couple of months increasingly possible, according to the sources in the Taiwanese supply chain. According to DigiTimes, shipments for the Apple's 10.5-inch iPad Pro will increase to 600,000 units in July, up from around 500,000 units currently. With annual shipments of upcoming iPad Pro 2, is expected to reach 5 million units this year, according to the market watchers. Previous reports suggested that Apple's manufacturing partners had already started the limited production of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro tablet in March when it remained unclear when the iPad Pro 2 would be announced. Rumors have lacked agreement regarding when Apple will release the tablet, with suggestions of an early April event having failed to materialize. However, noted KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed there is a "greater than 70 percent chance" that Apple will be unveiling the long-rumored 10.5-inch iPad Pro at WWDC in June, based on the timing of production ramp-up. The 10.5-inch iPad Pro is said to have a similar form factor as the current 9.7-inch model is having, but it will boast a bigger display because of narrower bezels, Mac Rumor reported. 10.5-inch iPad Pro can be seen at the WWDC. Reports suggest that Apple is unveiling new iMac models and a Siri-based Amazon Echo competitor at the event. If Apple is releasing updated iMacs and an iPad, along with entering into the voice assistant appliance market, that'll make for a rushed keynote. Along with those rumored devices, Apple is going to reveal the next major versions of macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
