Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Release Confirmed For May 25; Snapdragon 660 Processor, 6GB RAM & More Powerful Specs By Harsh Soni h_soniji@rediffmail.com | May 20, 2017 01:45 PM EDT Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is confirmed to be released on May 25 in Beijing, China, as per the posters shared on Weibo. Earlier reports claimed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 2 would be revealed along with the Mi 6, but that didn't happen. Then some other reports claimed a release date of May 23, but now it looks like the company's new posters are pegging May 25 as Mi Max 2's final release date. Xiaomi's Weibo page has links to a poster highlighting the Mi Max 2. The poster on Weibo reads that the smartphone will be released at 2 PM in Beijing at a press conference and will be attended by CEO Lei Jun. Chinese girl band SNH48 is expected to be at the unveiled at the same date, Indian Express reported. On specifications side, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will feature the huge 6.4-inch full HD resolution display. Leaked specs on GeekBench of Mi Max 2 indicated that Snapdragon 626 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and a massive 5000 mAh battery. Some of the other specs include a 6.44-inh full-HD display and 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX378 sensor. The smartphone is could come with a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Much like the Mi Max, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is also said to release outside of China. The Xiaomi is also expected to introduce a 128GB storage variant of the Mi Max 2, as noted by NDTV. Other features that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to feature are dual speaker grilles at the bottom edge, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack on the top edge, fingerprint scanner in the center at the rear. For release, as mentioned earlier, the device will show off on May 25.
