Samsung Galaxy S8 And S8 Plus Arrive In China On May 25 But Prices Still Unknown By Vittorio Hernandez | May 18, 2017 11:03 AM EDT A showcase event would take place in China on May 18, Thursday, to herald the arrival of Samsung’s flagship smartphones. The event is a week away from the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus on May 25 in the Asian giant. Besides the roll-out of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in China, GSM Arena reported that Samsung’s artificial intelligence assistant, Bixby, would offer Chinese language support beginning in June. However, the report from industry sources did not provide the information how much the two flagships would sell in China. According to Android Headlines, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus would be more expensive than its U.S. prices which are $689.99 on eBay, $770 on Amazon, and $799 on B&H for the S8. The 64GB unlocked S8 Plus is available for preorder at Best Buy or Samsung.com at $824.99, The Verge reports. In the U.S., what is available for both models is the Midnight Black color option. Samsung confirmed in March that the unlocked versions of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus would arrive in May. The report says that Samsung plans to roll out the 6GB RAM variant of the Galaxy S8 Plus with regular models in China. It is the same model already available in South Korea, although Samsung is experiencing supply issues with the Galaxy S8 Plus because of the high demand for the phone in the country. When it comes to specs and design, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 are identical. The only difference is size since the S8 has a 5.8-inch screen while the S8 Plus has a larger 6.2-inch panel. Their case is made of glass and metal, has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable internal storage, and powered by the Exynos 8895 64-bit octa-core chip.
