The upcoming S8 model will sport McAfee antivirus, which will be followed by Samsung Smart TVs and Samsung PCs as well. In their bid to grasp the connecting device market, McAfee has taken a giant leap after penning down a new deal with Samsung. The collaboration will benefit Samsung as well because the Smartphone giant has been criticized for its lack of security prowess at times. As a precautionary measure, Samsung will be looking to pre-install McAfee antivirus in the upcoming flagship models alongside Samsung S8. However, the deal has struck some curious nerves as reported by Digital Trends. Many are of the opinion that adding McAfee antivirus will eat up the storage significantly of Samsung S8, and might not be as useful as it is claimed to be. Countering the argument, Samsung loyalists have welcomed such move. The protection of every connecting device is of utmost importance nowadays said John Giamatteo, executive vice president, McAfee. The company also posted a staggering survey that shows 44% of users are afraid of financial dupes, and 38% fears identity theft. McAfee antivirus in Samsung S8 will look to cope with such high-profile thefts. In McAfee's website, it has been made official that McAfee will also jack up the security system for Samsung Smart TVs and Samsung PCs alongside Samsung S8. The storage space McAfee antivirus will take has not been revealed yet but in this case the lesser the merrier. Samsung is yet to announce a press release, but it looks McAfee has provided sufficient information already. McAfee antivirus has done pretty well since becoming an individual company after parting ways with Intel. Pre-installing the software in Samsung S8 might just be the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. Meanwhile, for more updates on Samsung Galaxy S8 stay tuned with us!
