It was also stated that Cupertino has already placed its first orders for the new modules that cost $177 million. According to The Investor, LG Innotek is currently the sole supplier of dual-lens camera modules utilized in Apple's wildly-popular iPhone 7 Plus handset. The South Korea-based camera-maker already operates out of a separate facility in the country, where the more advanced facility was required due to the nature of Apple's sophisticated new camera tech. This new camera tech for will embody modules both smaller in size while being integrated into the front panel of the upcoming iPhone 8. As reports were gathered, Apple's adoption of advanced 3D facial recognition on the iPhone 8 has first surfaced earlier this year. The well-connected KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the technology has a revolutionary upgrade which capable of capturing images in 2D boasting unmatched depth of information; in addition to 3D selfies that will sport the handset's advanced imaging prowess. As noted by Mac Rumors, in order to capture 3D images with depth, these new modules being developed by LG Innotek will embody a dual-lens system that will be integrated into the front panel of Apple's iPhone 8. It was also seen with the recently leaked photos revealing that one lens will be placed on either side of the front earpiece. With this, Apple's new advanced 3D camera tech will unveil as a cornerstone feature of its upcoming iPhone 8 flagship that could also be called the iPhone Edition, as noted by several speculations over the net. The iPhone 8 will be expected to debut alongside both iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus counterparts. However, several reports have suggested that the iPhone 8 may not actually begin shipping to customers until October or November this year.
