Lenovo's Mystery New Android Tablet Gets Wi-Fi Certification By Staff Reporter | May 12, 2017 05:30 PM EDT A tablet bearing Lenovo branding and the model number TB-8704V has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. The device might be releasing very soon, as Lenovo has launched a couple of new android tablets this year so far and plans to launch a couple more. Spec sheet of the Lenovo TB-8704V is still not out and the hardware of the tablet is up for debate. As for the software side, the device is said to be running on Android's latest 7.1.1 Nougat during alpha-testing. While it is unknown if the tablet will launch with yet another refreshed iteration of Android. GSMARENA believes that Lenovo would be making the tablet official in a matter of days and then the spec sheet of the tablet would be up for display. As for sales and marketing, Lenovo is one of the largest tablet vendors and is currently ranked at the fifth place after Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Amazon. According to Android Headlines, Lenovo has announced a couple of mid-range tablets this year, and these include the Tab 10, Tab 10 Plus, Tab 4 8, Tab 4 8 Plus and the Tab 3 8 Plus. Some of these tablets have been on the market since February and others would be launching by May 2017. This puts the new Lenovo TB-8704V launch date to be either late Q2 or early Q3. If Lenovo's tablet trends are strong, this new tablet might be a flagship tablet and might have top of the line hardware and a larger battery. Lenovo's latest tablet, the Tab 10 has 2GB of RAM and runs of SnapDragon 425 SoC. The tablet also comes with a 5MP camera and a 7000 mAh battery capacity. Its elder sibling, the Tab 10 Plus is a mid-ranger and has 4GB of RAM and has a SnapDragon 625 SoC at its heart. The Tab 10 Plus also has a higher resolution screen and has a respectable 8MP camera.
