By Streaming PlayStation 4 Games Using Remote Play App, Gamers Could Play Titles On PC By Vittorio Hernandez | May 12, 2017 03:18 PM EDT A feature that used to be available only on PlayStation Vita handheld and select smartphones and tablets is now available on PlayStation 4. Streaming PS4 titles from the console using a local network or the Internet using Remote Play app allows gamers to play the PS4 games on PC. According to PCWorld, the feature would also allow players to use PlayStation Now service to stream select PS4 games to the PC from the cloud. However, the Remote Play app only supports, for now, PS3 games. With the feature, some of the best PS4 games from the last 10 years, such as “The Last of Us,” “Horizon Zero Dawn,” “Uncharted,” and “Journey,” could be played on PC. To do that, besides having a Remote Play app, the PS4 owner would need a computer that runs on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, a PS4 or PS4 Pro, a DualShock 4 controller that sells for $44 on Amazon, and a Sony DualShock 4 USB wireless adapter, sold for $22.50 on Newegg, or a Micro-USB to USB cable. An active PS Online account is also required, according to Donklephant. The PS4 would serve as the primary console. Download and install the Remote Play app from the official website, configure it, set the desired options, and connect it to the controller. Use the app to connect to the PS network. After everything has been set up, stream the PS4 games to the PC. Remote gaming using the Remote Play app is just one of the lesser-known Xbox and PS4 One tips that Economic Times shared. The other tips include dimming the Controller Light to save on juice for the PS4, using any USB keyboard or entering text wirelessly by using a connected smartphone and PS app to input a lot of text, and opening the PS4 profile and selecting the option “Appear Offline” on the quick menu Online Status so as not to be bothered by messages asking to chat or join a multiplayer game.
