2018 Ford Mustang: The Darth Vader Of Automobiles By Suraj staff@droidreport.com | May 09, 2017 06:34 AM EDT Ford unveiled its 2018 Mustang at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this year. The car had a noticeably fresh, aggressive front look that Ford claims to be inspired by the famous villain of Star Wars, Darth Vader. Ford's design manager, Melvin Betancourt reveals that while designing the 2018 Ford Mustang, they wanted to give the automobile a more aggressive and powerful look. Choosing the most famous supervillain of all time, Ford particularly took inspiration from Darth Vader's helmet and mask. As mentioned in Digital Trends, the 2018 Mustang does indeed have a meaner and more sinister look, with its angled shrunken headlights and sinister looking grille. While the yellow 2018 Mustang might not give one the same menacing vibes, the Darth Vader anecdote is hard to miss in the Ford Mustang painted in Ford's Shadow Black. As for new features, the 2018 Mustang has gained a 12-inch customizable digital instrument cluster with Track Apps. Ford has also revised the rear fascia and LED taillights with new quad exhaust tips for the GT. Ford in its website, Ford claims that the 2018 Mustang will offer four different wheel options, making it "Cockpit Goals" The base model comes with turbocharged 2.3-litres EcoBoost I-4 while the Mustang GT has a port and direct injected 5-litre V8 Coyote. With either engine, one can get the performance packs at standard or premium trim levels. These performance packs include MagneRide dampers, Brembo brakes, new Michelin performance tyres and more. There has also been an update in the six-speed manual of the engines, the six-speed automatic being replaced by a new ten-speed automatic. The V8 model gets a twin-disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel. The 2018 Ford Mustang offers cloth seats with an option available for leather. The 2018 Ford Mustang is showing impressive features with a more efficient fuel economy. In addition to bringing together the two classics- Ford and Star Wars, the greater scope for customization is a big plus point.
