Android O Beta Program Confirmed To Start This Month As Google Ends Android Nougat Beta Update By Harsh Soni h_soniji@rediffmail.com | May 06, 2017 10:00 AM EDT Google has confirmed that the Android Nougat Beta Program is finally complete and that no new builds will be pushed to Pixel and Nexus devices in the future. Google has officially confirmed to soon start the Android O beta program. Thus, any more builds of the Android Nougat being pushed to Pixel and Nexus devices won't be seen. However, Google will soon begin the Android O Beta program, after already having launched the initial Android O Developer Preview back in March 2017. It is also expected that only registered users will get the latest Android O Beta program, sometime this month itself, as reported by The Android Soul. Google has recently pushed stable builds of Android 7.1.2 to all of those who were enrolled in the beta program. Following that, the Android Nougat public beta is now concluded. Google says that the website will be updated when the Android O beta is ready, according to 9to5 Google. The recent report cites significantly faster growth rate of adoption of Android's latest version, but even with that, Android Nougat has only reached out to 7.1 percent of all Android devices across the globe. The company will that with the upcoming Android O, the adoption rate of latest build will increase soon. According to the Google developer page, there is a planned release for the second developer preview of Android O build in the middle of May that is listed as a beta. Hopefully, this means the public beta will roll out at that time. The upcoming Android O preview is expected to bring overall better stability and performance improvements to the operating system. With the upcoming Google I/O 2017 scheduled for May 17-19, the roll out of the second preview of Android O may coincide with this event. And following this, the Beta programme is expected to begin.
