$100 Logitech Slim Folio iPad Case For 5th Gen iPad Offers 4-Year-Battery Life By Vittorio Hernandez | May 03, 2017 07:00 AM EDT A long battery life is often one of the requirements of consumers when purchasing gadgets. It is a specification especially for people on the go who need to be connected while moving around. The Logitech Slim Folio could be one solution because it offers four years of battery life. Owners of any Apple iPad models could use the $100 Logitech Slim Folio that is also compatible with the new 5th generation iPad, BGR notes. Besides the four-year battery life, the case features a full-size keyboard with a mechanical scissor-switch key design. It also has 1.5mm key travel and a row of iOS shortcut keys. The powerful juice of the Logitech Slim Folio is because of its coin cell battery, similar to those in wristwatches, rated at four years. After the juice is gone, the battery could be replaced. The tech website notes that the battery could likely last longer than the length of time Apple users keep their iPads, GSM Arena reports. When used instead of the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, combined with a low-power Bluetooth 4.0 connection, for two hours daily, the juice would last for four years, The Verge reports. Another Logitech accessory, the Blok Keyboard Case, also uses coin batteries that last for an average of four years. It requires two CR2032 coin cell batteries. If the batteries’ juice is about to dry up, the status LED on the keyboard case's top right side would glow red, an indicator that it should be replaced. Logitech says the Logitech Slim Folio “takes mobile computing to a new level." Owners could type on their iPads like they are using a laptop. However, because of the folio’s slim and light design, it is easy to carry it around while providing iPads protection from bumps, scratches, and spills. The folio also locks the iPad at an optimal angle for typing and holds firm on any surface, BGR reports. The folio could be pre-ordered on Logitech’s website.
