‘Super Mario Run’ Leveling Up Soon, Expected To Breach 150 Million Download Mark By Joseph Patrick | Apr 28, 2017 05:59 PM EDT Nintendo is all set to score another milestone soon for its hits mobile app “Super Mario Run.” The game continues to be a hit with avid gamers though most have been content playing it with the three levels and other features. While one can imagine the impact that lower priced or adding more levels can do, “Super Mario Run” is forecasted to reach a record 150 million downloads for both iOS and Android platform soon. If the numbers are accurate, this means that the game will improve on the 78 million downloads it registered back in January, GameSpot reports. The jump in numbers for “Super Mario Run” hardly comes as a surprise with Nintendo slowly expanding to other markets. Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima has added more regions aside from the US, Europe, and Japan, a big reason on why more players are now into the “Super Mario” mobile app craze. As far as the “Super Mario Run” players who have taken up Nintendo with the $10 price tag to unlock the full version, such may force the company to ponder. Only 5-percent have paid for the full version, meaning Nintendo has not profited from the game as it hoped for, Eurogamer reports. There is no word on whether Nintendo would tweak that stand to for “Super Mario Run.” They could lower the price a bit seeing the one-time fee has turned most off. The current features of the game have kept most busy and hopefully, they don’t resort to downsizing those unless they are ready for the backlash and active playing numbers dipping. Nintendo has so far proven that the game is a success. But like most companies, it needs to find ways to make a profit. As mentioned above, lowering the price to get the full version is one. Ramping up in-game purchases or adopting some in-game ads could be possible too, similar tactics other game companies have turned to.
