Tesla’s Android App Update: Powerwall 2 That Can Store Up To 14Kwh

Recently, Tesla has released an update for its iOS and Android apps that will bring joy to those who owns a Powerwall product. The app now displays a bunch of useful info that includes a real-time data on solar power generation, household energy consumption, as well as battery power flow.

According to The Verge, it will as let consumers know when a power outage occurs and the Powerwall battery kicks in to keep the lights on. Powerwall also offers an option of adjusting the amount of power the product stores and checking the current Powerwall status. Tesla's Powerwall is clearly an interesting product which can store solar power generated during the daytime that can be used to power a home at night when the sun is down.

With Tesla's new Powerwall update, it is now more useful as consumers are able to check a number of different things and even control certain functionalities of the battery with their smartphones. This second generation of the energy storage product, the Powerwall 2 made its debut last year and is capable of storing 14 kWh which costs a little more than $6,000.

According to Tesla, the latest update should already be available for all consumers. Users are highly recommended to try with the new features by simply updating the app on their mobile devices. The Powerwall 2, is a giant battery similar to those used in Tesla's electric cars that allow consumers to store a lot of amount of energy per unit. Allowing for solar generated during the day to be used at night or as a backup power source in the event of an electric outage.

Tesla's Powerwall 2 is a built-in inverter that allows for easier connection of solar panels to a home energy grid. Up to nine Powerwalls can be interconnected that can be wall or ground mounted either inside or out.
