Gamers Could Play A Vampire In ‘Code Vein,’ An Upcoming RPG Game From Bandai Namco By Vittorio Hernandez | Apr 19, 2017 10:53 AM EDT Bandai Namco just released a teaser about its latest RPG game. It is “Code Vein” where gamers play a vampire. Famitsu, a Japanese publication, describes the game as a “dungeon-exploration type, hard action RPG." The era is a post-apocalyptic near future where players take the role of a Revenant. Superpowered Vamps With Lost Memory GameSpot reports that in “Code Vein,” the Revenants are superpowered vampires who have lost the bulk of their memories. They live in Vein, a society, and must have blood so they would not turn into a Lost. However, reports say that the game is only 30 percent complete so far. The likely date of launch would be in 2018. There is no confirmed platform for “Code Vein” which runs on Unreal Engine 4. When it would release, players could bring along an AI-controlled companion, using the game’s Buddy System, to explore a world with various swords and other weapons of war, and engage in combat. Bandai Namco is expected to provide more details on April 20 about the release date of the game. Marketing Line Similar To “Dark Souls” The team working on “Code Vein” is the same team that developed “God Eater,” Forbes reports. For a change, Bandai Namco did not tap From Software to develop the upcoming game, but it is using its marketing line for “Dark Souls” to launch the RPG game. It uses the slogan “Prepare to dine” which is a slogan styled in the tradition of “Dark Souls," Critical Hit notes. Bandai Namco clarifies that the teaser trailer it released of “Code Vein” is not related to the work of the developer of “Dark Soul.” Beyond the teaser, the Hidetaka Miyakazi-led studio is not ready to release more details about the upcoming game, GameRant reports.
