‘Overwatch’ Adjusts Streak Multiplier For Losing Players; Here’s How It Works By Staff Reporter | Apr 14, 2017 12:00 AM EDT Blizzard has just announced that “Overwatch” has adjusted the aggressiveness of its Steak Multiplier, particularly for players with a losing streak. Sometimes, there are days when a player just get caught with continuous losses so this news is really good. Now, the effect of every loss will not be as aggressive as it was before. According to Gamerant, Scott Mercer, principal designer of “Overwatch”, has confirmed that the recent patch 1.10 also adjusts the competitive play streak multiplier of the game to make it more forgiving. This means the Skill Rating change multiplier will not go too low or high whenever a player wins or lose. Before the update, the multiplier reacts too quickly after every match so players only need to win a couple of rounds. Now that the multiplier has been changed, it will slowly adjust the streak multiplier of a player after a row of wins or lose according to Kotaku. “Therefore, we’re changing the tuning of the streak multiplier to be quite a bit less aggressive. You now need to win or lose more games in a row before any multiplier is used, and it scales up at a slower pace.” Mercer added. This means players will no longer experience losing many of their hard-earned Skill rating points on their bad days. Competitive gameplay is not the only modes available in the game. There are also single player modes or PvE that gamers can enjoy in “Overwatch”. In addition, there is also the new Uprising event where players can try new game mode that doesn’t rely entirely on multipliers, new cosmetic items, and even new maps. Just recently, Blizzard confirms they had to disable a couple of multiplayer modes due to technical issues with one of the recent patch. There was no announcement yet when it will be fixed but the wait shouldn’t be too long for “Overwatch” players.
