Google Nexus 6P Beta Testers To Receive Android 7.1.2 Nougat Final Build Update By Dipta Bhattacharya staff@droidreport.com | Apr 13, 2017 08:31 AM EDT Google has been releasing several updates for the Android Nougat OS in the last couple of months. Both GooglePixel and Google Pixel XL have received the latest updates. Users owning Nexus 6P and enrolled to Google's beta testing program would be able to download Nougat 7.1.2 Nougat update. In fact, the users would be able to get an update for the phone released for non beta testers a few days ago. The Android 7.1.2 Nougat update comes with a build number, N2G47H, Android Headlines reported. Interestingly, as Nexus 6P testers have Android 7.1.2 Nougat installed, the download file size is small and is about 25.4MB. This is understandable as most of what this update carries for the non beta users is already present in this device. However, users who don't want to wait for the over the air update to reach the device can download it. To do so, the users can visit Google and directly download using the ZIP file of this update. Once downloaded, the users can sideload it on their phone. There's a slight between beta build and final build devices. As per Android Authority, the beta build devices would not get any latest OTA updates, whereas the final builds would receive it. Due to this reason, the Google 6P users on Android 7.1.2 Nougat are advised to upgrade to the regular final build. Tech experts are still waiting to see if any other device participating in the Android beta program would get the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update soon. As earlier reports suggested that the latest version is a minor update for this Nexus 6P. Even though the device comes with the latest feature, fingerprint swipe feature, that is also included in Google Pixel XL and Google Pixel smartphones. The latest Android update on Nexus 6P also brings in battery usage alerts. Apart from this, the update also brings changes in connectivity and notification stability.
