Sony Xperia L1 Latest News & Update: Mid-Range Smartphone Release Expanding To More Countries This June By Joseph Patrick | Apr 11, 2017 08:17 PM EDT The Sony Xperia L1 may not be among the top-tier mobile phones to get but it does deserve a look. Expected to debut in most major countries such as Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, the word out is that more regions will be added to the mix. Most of the regions mentioned above expected to get the Sony Xperia L1 this April but it seems the release has been pushed back to June for some reason. But the good news is that other regions could append the list, meaning a wider scope for the latest mid-range smartphone from Sony, Phone Arena reported. If so, that should be great news for folks looking to get a mid-range device that should give rival mobile phones some competition. The major specs of the Sony Xperia L1 were covered in a previous post. To recap, the device will feature a 5.5-inch HD display with 720p resolution, bank on a 1.5 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6737 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256 GB via microSD), a 13 MP main camera and a front-facing 5 MP cam. Pricing for the Sony Xperia L1 has yet to be known with retailers like Clove UK simply terming it as “affordably priced.” With the specs already out in the open, most are hoping it doesn’t get overpriced ahead of other devices currently available in the market. It will be Sony who will benefit from such, seeing how they have been struggling to catch up in the smartphone segment. The mid-range phone market is a bit tricky, seeing multiple players battling to gain a share of the market. One spec that most look forward to is the camera of Sony smartphones. The 13 MP main camera could be a slight bump of the rest but the real leverage falls on the picture and video quality it is able to capture and render.
