LG G5, V20, & Nexus 5X Phones Have Been Added To LG Bootloop Defect Class-Action By Aboki Basira staff@droidreport.com | Apr 12, 2017 02:59 AM EDT Latest updates reveal that G5, V20, and Nexus 5X devices have been added to the LG boot loop defect class-action. According to the reports, the three phone have now been added to the class-action lawsuit. The first online publisher to report on the boot loop defect class-action was Arstenica a few weeks ago. It was stated in the report that there will be a proposed class-action lawsuit that is primarily aimed at two LG flagship devices - the G4 and V10. The report also stated that the suit centers around a popular boot loop issue that bricked the devices and sometimes even slowed them down. The suit also claims that the processors of the devices were not properly soldered to the motherboard, thereby making the phone incapable of withstanding heat. The phones sometimes get cold to a freezing point, slows down, overheat, and reboot at random and then fail. The boot loop defect class-action is based on the backdrop of warranties and the failure of the developer to find a solution to the issue. However, the fact that suit was only for two of LG's phone has put fans in the dark as to the reason why other devices from the developer who also have the same issue are not included in the Southern California federal suit. It seems that the attorneys involved in the lawsuit are really doing their homework and research into other affected devices, as recent reports state that other devices have been included in the suit. The good news is that boot loop defect class-action has been amended to now include the Nexus 5X, and the LG G5 and LG V20. The updated lawsuit covers every high-profile LG phone from 2015 and 2016. The plaintiffs are represented by attorneys at Girard Gibbs LLP and it is reported by Android police that both the legal practitioners and the other media outlets have confirmed the addition of the three devices. The report also noted that a survey has been designed so as to determine other devices that may have been affected. It is believed that other devices that are currently having the boot loop issues will be added to the suit very soon. The developer confirmed last year that the issue was caused by a hardware for the G4, but it is reported that LG has not yet said anything about the other devices included in the boot loop defect class-action. It is reported that the Judge in charge of the hearing, Magistrate Judge Paul L. Abrams has given LG an ultimatum May 8 to appear in court.
