Samsung has almost finished the Android 7.0 Nougat rollout schedule for the Galaxy S7 lineup and now the focus of the tech giant has been shifted to the next-in-line smartphones like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5. Sprint is the first in the US, but in regions like India, the Galaxy Note 5 has already got the update earlier. According to Sam Mobile, the Android 7.0 Nougat update brings Sprint's Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to the software version number N920PVPU3DQC5.The latest update brings the most recent version of Samsung's TouchWiz UX on both the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ along with March security patch. The update is rolling out in the form of OTA, so it could take some time to notify every unit, but you can also check it manually by heading to the Settings > About Phone > System update. For the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+, Nougat update brings a variety of UI tweaks, multi-window support, personalized Quick Settings shortcuts, and other performance enhancements. Sprint, however, hasn't updated the support page for the Galaxy Note 5 on its website yet. It's still listing the February security patch which it sent out that month as the most recent update but it will be refreshed soon as the roll out progresses in the coming days. Since Sprint has set the ball rolling for Nougat update on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+, we can expect other carriers to follow up soon. Not just carriers, we expect Samsung to roll out the update to the unlocked units of the both the devices soon, as reported by Phone Arena. Google has already made available the April security patch to its Nexus and Pixel devices, but other Android OEMs have yet to release it. Other carriers are also expected to push the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 an S6 Edge+ soon, but currently, we don't have any clear timeline of when that would happen.
