MacBook Pro 15 with AMD Radeon Pro Vs Dell XPS 15 with Nvidia GTX 1050, Which One Is Better? By Staff Reporter | Apr 10, 2017 09:33 AM EDT The Macbook Pro 15 has been regarded as one of the most efficient devices in the market right now. The newly released AMD Radeo Pro processor is said to be a good fit for the MacBook. According to Apple, the company behind the Macbook Pro 15, the new MBP 15 has a powerful Radeon Pro discrete graphics. It could deliver 2.3 times more performance than the previously used AMD R9 M370X generation. With this information, is it safe to bet that the Macbook Pro 15 with AMD Radeon Pro would be a better choice than the Dell XPS 15 equipped with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050? Two tech experts have weighed in the two laptops with a certain processor and which one could be better. They compared the 2016 MacBook Pro 15 equipped with AMD Radeon Pro and the 2017 Dell XPS 15 equipped with Nvidia GTX 1050. Forbes got Lisa Gade, the founder and editor in chief of MobileTech Review. Another one is Gordon Ung, the Executive Editor at PC World. Gade of MobileTechReview said that the MacBook Pro 15 with AMD Radeon Pro complements each other. She said that the graphics processing unit suits the design. "These are low power dedicated GPUs and they generate less heat and consume less power than higher performance cards like the Nvidia GTX 1060. We suspect that's why Apple chose AMD since thin and light were more important for this redesign than performance improvements," she said in her review of the MacBook Pro 15. She said that the Nvidia GPU made the game faster and ever 30% to 50% faster than AMD. Ung used an Enter The Dragon analogy in comparing the GPUs used in these devices. He said that the MacBook Pro 15 equipped with AMD Radeon Pro is like O'Hara transformed into Bruce Lee. He admitted that at first, he was not excited with the AMD in the MacBook Pro 15 because he was not a huge fan of GPU performances. However, the GPU was able to make the four-pound 15-inch laptop a horsepower. On the other hand, he praised the Dell XPS 15 equipped with Nvidia GeForece GTX 1050 since it complements each other. With this GPU, it was able to get along with the device's Core i7-7700HQ 7th gen Kaby Lake processor, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 with 4GB GDDR5, a 512GS SSD, and a 97WHr battery. So which one is better? Tell us in the comments section below.
