‘Pokemon GO’ To Have a New 'Cooperative Gameplay Experience' This Spring – Niantic

When "Pokemon GO" was released back in July 2016, it became a worldwide phenomenon - so much that almost everyone who owns a smartphone downloaded the game. Pokemon (short for Pocket Monsters) is indeed a popular Nintendo handheld game and it still is till today. The idea of finding (and catching) little creatures that you can train is just brilliant - and to experience that in real life is even more exciting. When "Pokemon GO" was teased prior to the release date, every Pokemon fans were so excited and thought that "Pokemon GO" will be the evolution of the series they played with Nintendo Game Boy.

The first trailer of "Pokemon GO" was everything that Pokemon fans wanted - walk and find Pokemon in real life, trade Pokemon, and even battle with your friends. But when the game was released, it was not (not entirely) as what they portrayed in the commercial ads. There was no trade function, no battle with friends and the way evolution works in "Pokemon GO" is also totally different than what fans and player alike used to.

In "Pokemon GO", the only battle players can get is through the Gyms. Players will select their own team based on the legendary Birds Pokemon - Mystic (Articuno), Instinct (Zapdos) and Valor (Moltres). From there, players will be categorized based on the team they select and will work together to take over the Gyms. The hype of "Pokemon GO" was absolutely incredible but has slowed down because there was nothing else to do except for catching tons of Pokemon for the sake of their candies (for evolution) and dominate the gyms. Even the battle mechanism is completely different.

Fans have been waiting for something to change, and after few updates and reviews, maybe Niantic has realized what Pokemon fans actually hoping for. On April 6, Niantic has released a news through its blog, in regards to the achievement of the game as "Pokémon GO" won the Best Mobile and Handheld Game at the British Academy of Film, Television, and Arts Game Awards. Niantic announced that they are working on something exciting and players can expect a major update soon.

"We continue to be inspired by the passion of the 65+ million people from around the world playing "Pokémon GO" each month. We're still at the beginning of the journey and there's a lot more to come. With spring arriving in the northern hemisphere, players can look forward to all-new cooperative social gameplay experiences in "Pokémon GO" that will give Trainers new and exciting reasons to get back into the sunshine, " the post read.

Maybe this is something that fans have been waiting for. Maybe now that we can finally battle with our friends - instead of the pesky, overly strong Pokemon at the gyms. And maybe with this coming update, "Pokemon GO" will once again reign supreme - like what happened back in July, August 2016.
