‘Clash of Clans’ Free Gems & Dark Elixir Leak for Clan Wars Anniversary Could Be Fake! Gamers Still Waiting for Major Update

"Clash of Clans" celebrates its Clan Wars anniversary by supposedly giving away free gems and dark elixir. This news came from an alleged data leak which could be a fake. That said, gamers are still waiting for the major update that was supposed to come after the spring update.

According to All Clash, "Clash of Clans" is celebrating the Clan Wars anniversary starting on April 7 to April 17, 2017. In line with this momentous event, clans participating in Clan Wars would receive 3 times the XP. Also, a player can buy a Value Pack in the gift shop which rewards 125000 Dark Elixir when the gamer buys 1200 gems. Also, free gems would be given to the gamer's teammates if the player purchases one of the Clan Gift Packs.

That said, these free gems and Dark Elixir could have been the source of the data wherein the leak originated from. While other sites such as Telegiz and iMotor Times have all but confirmed that the "Clash of Clans" leak is valid, there is still a chance that the said leak was a part of an April Fool's Day prank that was discovered a bit too late, and these sites fell for it.

Logically, giving away that much free gems and an insane amount of dark elixir doesn't make sense especially for a company that generates part of its income from the sale of these gems. Even for an anniversary gimmick, or even to lure "Clash of Clans" players back, giving away those resources just doesn't add up. So the only logical conclusion here, even if the leak source is reliable, is that the leak may have been fake, or have been misread.

Last year, "Clash of Clans" celebrated its Clan Wars anniversary by providing double Clan XP to clans participating in Clan Wars, making it easier to level up. This year, the Clan Wars anniversary has been tied up to the game's Events Feature, allowing participating clans to earn three times as much XP as they normally would.

The value packs and the XP bonus are a great Clan Wars anniversary offering to its players. It is, however, not the perk most "Clash of Clans" gamers are still waiting. With the updates for "Clash of Clans" coming too few and too far in between, some players think that the game has become stagnant. This is especially true when the game is compared to Supercell's other hit app, "Clash Royale."

Again, these extra resources and the XP bonus may be good enough for some players. For the veteran "Clash of Clans" gamers, however, they would probably trade all these for new features and new characters to enter the game.

After all, these players are probably the ones who have spent more time playing "Clash of Clans" than anyone else. So why not treat these players with something new? Well, they can always hope.
