Apple, recently, has announced its plans for future high-end Mac Pro gadgets with better graphics performance, hinting at the possibility of using the Nvidia Titan Xp graphic card in one of its products. This will be the first time for Nvidia to make one of its powerful graphic cards to be available for Mac Pro users.

With the remarkable vapor chamber cooling technology, Nvidia Titan Xp graphic card has taken the crown from the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, coming with a hefty price of $1200. According to MacRumors, the Titan Xp, housed in a sturdy aluminum body, offers up to three times faster in terms of performance than the previous generation of graphic cards and even support the next-gen VR experiences.

The new PCI-e Based Nvidia Titan Xp graphic card will have 12GB of GDDR5X memory running at 11.4 gigabits per second and 3840 CUDA at 1.6GHz. It is suggested that The Titan Xp could also be employed with the older version of Mac Pro gadgets and Hackintosh devices.

There's another announcement for the new version of the Pascal-based beta drivers that compatible with Nvidia cards, namely PCI-e Mac Pro and external GPU solutions. With the use of Pascal-based drivers, it can open a way for Nvidia Titan Xp graphic card as well as Nvidia 10 cards and Geforce 1080 Ti to be used in Macs device with PCI-e slots.

The Pascal-based drivers are said to be released during the month of April. Apple, however, hasn't given any exact date regarding those new drivers compatible with Nvidia Titan Xp graphic card. The remaining question right now is whether or not the OS requirements will be limited.

If the OS conditions limited only to MacOS 10.11 Sierra, the drivers should function on the Mac Pro 3.1, 4.1, and 5.1 from 2008, 2009, 2010 respectively. Should the drivers be restricted to MacOS 10.12 Sierra, the compatibility is bounded to the Mac Pro 5.1 or 4.1 firmware, meaning that without some form of external GPU solution, the Nvidia Titan Xp graphic card might not compatible with the 2013 cylindrical Mac Pro, as reported by AppleInsider.
