AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Detail: Said to be Way Better than Intel’s Core i7-7700K By Ralphy Bonn Sim | Apr 07, 2017 07:00 AM EDT Someone recently released unofficial test results on the Ryzen 5 1600 processor. The test was not authorized but it cannot escape the hype surrounding the new processor as it proved that the Ryzen 5 1600 will be better than the Intel Core i7-7700K. According to Forbes, a Spanish website named El Chapuraz received the new processor and conducted its own set of tests. As resulted in the test, the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 garnered a base clock speed of 3.2 GHz with boosts of up to 3.6 GHz. The Ryzen 5 slightly performed better than the Core i7 in terms of video encoding where it garnered a score of 1,123 higher than Intel's stock speed in the Cinebench R15 rendering test. Tech manufacturers usually provide samples of their products to review sites before it will be officially launched. This allows the publications to try out the hardware and release their own review just in time for the products launching. The reviewers are normally required to sign an agreement to not disclose anything about the product to the public before its official release. As what El Chapuzas has done, the site didn't sign any agreement thus they aren't liable for any offense regarding their early disclosure. According to Digital trends, the Intel processor has only four cores and eight threads compared to the AMD Ryzen 5's six cores and twelve threads. The $350 Core i7-7700K CPU is also more expensive than the AMD processor that will retail for only $219. For a bit comparison, the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 and the Intel Core i5 7400 has also proven that the former will be generally the better processor though the Intel CPU did perform better in term of gaming. Similar to the Core i5-7400, the CIre i7-7700K also fared better in gaming as compared to the AMD Ryzen 5 1600.
