‘WWE 2K18’ News: ‘Undertaker’ Retirement Angle Perfect For Missing ‘Showcase Mode’ Feature

“WWE 2K18” should be a new challenge for 2K Sports, a bit stiffer with the mileage that “WWE 2K17” was able to set. An improvement could be recalling the “Showcase Mode”, something that was noticeably absent in the current edition.

“WWE 2K17” was free-to-play on the Xbox One this weekend, a privilege for Xbox Live Gold members. It is also available for half the price right now at $30, the perfect time to get a copy if you haven’t done so. The game has been doing fine since being released in October 2016 and PC users are waiting for their version to come out this year, Game Spot reported.

With the price-off and free-to-play offering, most consider these as hints that “WWE 2K18” is just around the corner. Forbes lists down the possible improvements 2K Sports may want to consider, covering wrestler stats and more modes such as open world wrestling. Nothing is definite for now though the recent development in the actual WWE scene is expected to swell the wish list WWE 2K gamers are craving for.

The big news as of this writing is the retirement of the “Undertaker.” Most feel that this should be factored into the game, particularly in the “Showcase Mode.” This was a feature that was stricken off, to the dismay of some gamers. Game developers may have been busy trying to improve on “WWE 2K17” but hopefully bring it back.

Though the WWE has yet to issue an official statement on whether “Taker” has indeed retired (or not), most believe that he did get his last ride at Wrestlemania 33. Plagued with injuries plus his age, it is the perfect time for the “Dead Man” to call it a career.

The “Undertaker” is a shoe-in to the WWE Hall of Fame class and focusing on him on “WWE 2K18” makes all the sense in the world. “WWE 2K18” is expected to come out later this year, hopefully with lots of improvements.
