Xbox VS PlayStation: Teens Voice Out Which Gaming Console Is 'Cooler?' By Jai S. | Apr 06, 2017 02:12 AM EDT Google recently commissioned a study to conclude the Xbox vs. PlayStation debate. The results as concluded through the study suggested that teenagers of the age group between 13 and 17 found the Xbox consoles cooler than the PlayStation ones. The group within 18 to 25 years stayed with the latter console to be better than the former. Xbox vs. PlayStation has been going on ever since the existence of the two console brands. Ironically, none of the brands topped the charts on Google's recent study. As per reports, teenagers from the group 13-17 years considered Xbox to be the fourth coolest brand in the world. The PlayStation took the seventh spot on their list of the best brands in the world. Further updates on the report concluded that YouTube and Netflix were on the second and third spot respectively, which are both owned by Google. Besides the Xbox vs. PlayStation debate, teenagers from the year 1999 to 2003 suggested their most popular game series as well. These included - "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive," "Minecraft," "Pokémon," "Grand Theft Auto," "Call of Duty: Black Ops" and "The Legend of Zelda." The brand list also showed that Nintendo was ranked lower than Xbox and PlayStation among the teenagers. Even EA was far behind on the list, Google's report noted. Apparently, the coolest things in the market are considered to be VR and AR-related technology. And, these are considered way cooler in portable devices featuring iOS, to be specific. Google's latest study was meant to check the most popular and coolest brands among the young generation. The survey was reportedly carried out by Gutcheck and YouGov, which comprised of three surveys among 1600 teenagers and 800 millennials. The survey, which was carried out between May and July 2016 only for the US citizens, lacked the actual data from the final report. Gamespot reported that most of the data were removed in favor of biased opinions.
