Samsung Foldable Phone Latest News: Foldable Reincarnation Needs Time To Develop, Not Due Until 2019 By Joseph Patrick | Apr 05, 2017 07:23 AM EDT Samsung is rising among the mobile phone ranks once again with the recent revelation of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. While both are hoarding the attention, some are still wondering when the Samsung foldable phones will make their re-entry. Word of the reincarnation of the Samsung foldable smartphones has been out for quite some time now. Most have been closely monitoring patents despite the fact that the Korean giant is focused on the small bezel devices out in the market. With that in mind, it hardly comes as a surprise that foldable devices may need time to develop. Samsung principal engineer Kim Tae-Woong recently spoke at the Display TechSalon in Seoul, touching on the state of the Samsung foldable phones. According to him, it may take a couple of more years to see this happen. To be exact, 2019, the Korea Herald reported. With the focus on the small bezel displays, getting Samsung to focus on the foldable niche could take some time. Other than that, there is the technology tied up to the anticipated Samsung foldable phones. Though it is seen as a resurrection of sorts, the fact is that times have changed and technology comes with it, Android Authority reported. Kim’s take was echoed by analyst Chung Won-Seok. He believes that the earliest consumer can see the Samsung foldable phones is 2019, the Samsung foldable phone potentially being the next big hit for the Korean electronics giant. For those following the brewing shift to foldable phone technology, Samsung is not the only one linked to the new tech. Three to five other companies are believed to be planning the same thing with mass production forecasted to commence in 2018. The dish is reasonable with the consumer electronics market seeking something new. Most will have to cherish the new small bezel display for now, giving the Samsung foldable phone ample time to evolve as a reality.
