Both the smartphones will be available for purchasing on Apr. 21. Samsung has introduced some unique features for both models. Taking a look at some of them, the most and primary feature that people have been talking about is the iris scanner. Iris scanner changes the way the phone communicates with a user to check one's authentication in order to access the smartphone. With that said, the iris scanner also helps in letting users pay for services without even needing to input the password. Apple, however, has decided to stick with the same phone factor and also the touch ID technology. BGR in their detailed report highlights all the new inclusions implemented into the smartphone by Samsung. The Galaxy S8 smartphones also support wireless charging although it has its own pros and cons. But that said, with the help of Qi charging and other methods, the technology is quite old for all android users for some time now. Both Galaxy S8 models now come with a curved edge contrary to earlier devices where the curved edges were exclusive to the 'edge' variant of Galaxy 'X' devices. That said, the new smartphones are not only slimmer in size but are now, a bit taller than the S6 and the S7 variants and also witnessed major changes in the way the phones are designed. Another report from the Business Insider also mentioned that Samsung Pay, unlike Apple Pay, doesn't require the usage of NFC. Although not new, Both the Galaxy S8 smartphones come with a headphone jack, unlike Apple iPhone 7 devices. While both new devices are priced a bit higher compared to their predecessors, users can definitely avoid the need to buy additional dongles which are the case with Apple.
