Sony Xperia XZs may be sporting the relatively old Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset but by all accounts, this new flagship from Sony can compete with the best of them. That said, Xperia XZs is now available for pre-order in US and UK territories and will start shipping on April 5.

The Phone Arena reports that Amazon is now offering the Sony Xperia XZs and its dual-SIM equivalent for pre-order for US$ 699 in the US. Consumers in the UK, meanwhile, will receive a Sony SRS-XB30 speaker for free when they pre-order the Sony Xperia XZs.

Initially introduced at the Mobile World Congress back in February 2017, the Sony Xperia XZs will start shipping beginning on April 5, 2017. The Sony Xperia XZs Dual has two SIM slots which can either accommodate a microSD and a SIM card. Meaning, a user can use one slot for the card, and the other slot for the microSD to expand the 64 GB internal memory of the phone.

However, if the user decides to utilize both SIM slots for their SIM cards, they will not be able to expand its internal memory. Also, the Sony Xperia XZs will only work on carriers such as At&T and T-Mobile in the US territories.

It's not all bad news, however. Besides the older Snapdragon SoC, the Sony Xperia XZs still has a lot to offer the consumers. It boasts one of the better camera systems in the current market for its class.

According to Tech Radar, the Sony Xperia XZs is equipped with Sony's Motion Eye system and has an integrated on-camera memory. This means that the user will have a number of shooting effects, such as an incredible 1000 frames per second slow-motion mode.

The Sony Xperia XZs is also equipped with a 23MP sensor, the five-axis stabilization system, and the RGBC-IR imaging technology. Also, it has 19 MP rear camera and a 13 MP front-facing camera having a wide-angle mode.

That said, behind the relatively old Snapdragon, the Sony Xperia XZs still has a lot to offer to the Sony faithful. And with the Sony flagship being at this price-range, it seems a good option for consumers if they want to purchase a high-end smartphone but doesn't want to shell out as much cash as they would have if they opt to get, for example, the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 plus.
