Motorola Moto X Pure Edition Soak Test Points To Imminent Android Nougat 7.1 Release By Joseph Patrick | Mar 30, 2017 10:32 AM EDT The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition looms as the next device to get and Android Nougat bump soon. Reports are coming in that soak tests are being done, a step before the operating system can be deployed to Android device owners. For those who are unfamiliar with soak tests done, this is done to ensure that the Android OS runs smoothly for mobile phones. It is at this stage where bugs and problems are weeded out, an initiative to prevent mobile phone owners in having to deal with phone malfunctions. The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition was initially spotted back in December via GFXBench running on Android 7.1.1. The Moto X Pure Edition was actually the last device to come out in 2015 and was still running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow when it was spotted. There was no word at that time on when the device would be bumped to Android Nougat though all that may be answered soon. The question now is which Android Nougat version will be released for the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition. That Android 7.1.1 spotting could be an indication though it won’t be surprising to find out that it was not bug-free. Hence, there is a chance that device owners may have to settle for Android 7.0 Nougat. Among the new features that Android Nougat will bring to the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition include a new multiwindow which will allow apps to run side-by-side. The update will also make it easier for users to respond to text, emails or social media posts via the notifications shade. A useful feature that Android Nougat could add to the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition is the Doze option. This may help prolong the life of the device since it apps will not be allowed to run when the phone is not being used, Phone Arena reported.
