Samsung Galaxy S6 Series Owners in Canada to Receive Android Nougat 7.0 Update In a Few Weeks By Eamon J Jawatin | Mar 30, 2017 02:12 AM EDT If you are using the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge registered under Canadian network - specifically Telus, there is a good news for you. The update for Android Nougat 7.0 has been rolled out, and owners of the Galaxy S6 models will be receiving it in less than two weeks. Carrier Telus will be the first one to roll out the update, scheduled on April 10th, and other networks are expected to follow after. According to Telus, Android Nougat 7.0 update that is coming to Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge, will be equipped with bug fixes and security update. Canadian owners of the Galaxy S6 series can manually check the update availability by going to Settings - About phone - System updates - Check For Update. To install the update via OTA, press the download button on the update notification window to begin the process. It is advised to connect the device to the WiFi as the update file size will be more than 500MB and could reach up to 1GB. Follow the instructions after the downloaded has finished. After the installation, it is wise to do some device maintenance to remove the unwanted leftover files from the upgrading process. The Samsung Galaxy S6 series was Samsung flagship for 2015, and it was the first series to introduce the curve display, before being fully utilized to its successors - the Galaxy S7 and the recently announced Galaxy S8 series. The Galaxy S6 series was first released running on Android 5.0.2 Lolipop and has been upgraded to Android 6.01 Marshmallow last year. Being a premium device, and still a great smartphone to use, it is really great to see that Samsung did not just abandon the models which have brought revolution success to the tech company. On other news, Samsung has recently announced its new flagship the Galaxy S8 and S8+ today.
