Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus’ Availability Problem Due to Chipset Issues; Release Date Pushed Back For a Week By Viona Villarica | Mar 29, 2017 12:03 PM EDT Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will become the first Smartphone on the US to adopt Qualcomm's latest System on Chip (SoC), the Snapdragon 835. The other chipset, which will be used for phone models sold in the South Korea and other global markets, is Exynos 8895 that boasts similar performance. It is reported that Qualcomm has been having a problem turning out enough Snapdragon 835 chipsets to meet Samsung's production schedule and demand. Samsung's own Exynos 8895 also meets the same fate as the chipset now suffers from production delays. The reason why Qualcomm and Samsung seem can't keep up with the demand of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is because both chipsets are made using the 10nm process. Samsung's plan to release the first Smartphone with Qualcomm's latest chipset before other phones brands backfired on it as the low yields and production delays of both chipsets falling behind market expectation. According to KoreaHerald, Samsung will face many problems in securing sufficient numbers of SoC for its latest Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, especially when the global Smartphone market is already oversupplied with rival products that bring more or less same premium features. If the Tech Giant Company can't find a way to solve this matter, the impact will be on Samsung's sales. Last month, Evan Blass a serial tipster posted a tweet in which he blamed the poor yields of both chipsets, the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 that caused the phone's launching date being pushed back a week. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus originally will be set to the public on April 21 and now, with a week delay due to the chipsets production hurdles, the new release date will be on April 28 for both handsets, as reported by PhoneArena.
