Latest updates reveal that Apple is rolling out MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 that comes with Night Shift mode. The report states that the tech giant has finally rolled out the MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 software update to its Mac devices.

The new MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 update is said to be packed with Night Shift mode, which automatically adjusts the display colors of Mac devices at night so that users will get to sleep easily once they are done using their devices. However, the new software update is available at Mac App Store using the Updates tab for users who are yet to update their device.

According to Apple Insider, interested users can download the MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 update for free and so users of MacOS Sierra-running devices are urged to download the new update right away. The report also states that the major feature incorporated in the new update is the Night Shift mode that was initially limited to iOS devices.

The new Night Shift mode is designed to make changes to the display settings of the device at night and restore the original settings during the day. The feature was created after the tech giant discovered that different lighting from screens affects the sleeping patterns of users. The Night Shift in the MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 update changes the display to a yellowish tone rather than the usual blue light in order to ensure that users are able the get a desired quality of sleep for the need period of time.

However, the new Night Shift mode is not an application but an operating system feature that users must first activate for it to work. It is reported by Yahoo that not all Mac devices are capable of supporting this feature in the MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 update, which invariably means that not every user can have access to Night Shift. It is also reported that only Mac devices that are released in 2012 and the newer-generation devices are compatible with the Night Shift mode.

In order to activate the Night Shift mode, Mac would have to proceed to System Preferences, where they will look for the Display menu. This menu now displays three tabs with the update namely, Display, Color and Night Shift. Users will have to select the Night Shift tab and then set when the feature to automatically turn on, that is, either "Sunset to Sunrise" or "Custom" in the MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 update.

Mac Users can also manually enable the Night Shift mode to remain on until the next day in the MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 update. Meanwhile, the Night Shift mode does not apply to connected devices such as televisions and projectors. In addition, Mac users can change the color temperature of the screen by adjusting to "Less Warm" or "More Warm" based on their personal preference. But the developer has noted that "Warmer" settings may affect the appearance of certain onscreen motion.
