'StarCraft: Remastered’ To Be Released This Summer, A Classic Real-time Strategy Game By Desy Serona staff@droidreport.com | Mar 28, 2017 03:50 AM EDT The rumors about "StarCraft: Remastered" has been finally announced after months of speculation and fan demands. The remastered version of the classic 1998 strategy game is now official. According to The Verge, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that they will be remastering the classic real-time strategy games "StarCraft" and "StarCraft: Brood War", as "StarCraft: Remastered" which is anticipated to be released this summer. "StarCraft: Remastered" will have a full graphics overhaul from "StarCraft" and "StarCraft: Brood War" with complete widescreen UHD support for up to 4K resolution. It will also include remastered sound, additional illustrations, new matchmaking capabilities, the ability to connect to Blizzard App, the ability to be saved to cloud storage, and more. Aside from the visual upgrades, a new comic book style briefings link missions and all-dialogue have been re-recorded. It will be basically like the same "StarCraft" story but with a "fresh coat of paint" The single-player campaign will contain new artworks with improved storytelling. Multiplayer fans will be able to experience the staple of new Blizzard titles, including "advanced" matchmaking, ladder play and social features. Blizzard also announced that they will be improving and will add features to the original versions of "StarCraft" and "StarCraft: Brood War". These original versions, which contain all the original content, will be available for free download, as reported by Engadget. In prior to "StarCraft: Remastered", Blizzard will be upgrading "StarCraft: Brood War" to an updated 1.18 version. This new update will offer the ability to rebind keys, an added observer mode and a modern anti-cheat measures with improved compatibility with Windows 7 and later operating systems. CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, Mike Morhaime said that they're modernizing the original visuals, audio, and online support of "StarCraft: Remastered" so that "StarCraft" players could enjoy the game for another 20 years. "StarCraft: Remastered" still has no official release date, but it is anticipated to be launched sometime this summer. Details with the price and some additional information will be announced soon.
