Orisa, ‘Overwatch’ Hero, Leaves Game’s Public Test Region & Goes Live By Vittorio Hernandez | Mar 23, 2017 09:43 AM EDT After staying for some time in “Overwatch’s” Public Test Region, female tank Orisa, the game’s new hero, left the PTR on Tuesday and went live. With her official launch, Orissa became the newest playable character in “Overwatch,” available to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC users. She comes equipped with several useful abilities. Not Yet In Competitive Play. A tank-class character designed to protect her team, Orisa would initially not be available for Competitive Play in “Overwatch,” Scott Mercer, game principal designer, says. Blizzard, the game developer, wants gamers to have some time to learn how to play the new hero before she would be moved to Competitive Play, GameSpot reports. But she is available in Quick Play, the Arcade and Play vs. Al for now. The weapon of Orisa, the new hero of “Overwatch,” is an automatic cannon, called Fusion Driver, which causes constant damage to her enemies but slows Orisa’s movement speed. She also has as alternate fire Halt that launches a charge she could detonate to slow down foes and pull her enemies towards the explosion. Fortify makes Orisa immune to action-impairing effects and reduces the damage she takes. Role Similar To Reinhardt. The role of Orisa in “Overwatch” is similar to Reinhardt, the shield-wilder-in-chief of the Blizzard game, Kotaku reports. With her mix of abilities and semi-mobile cover, gamers would be able to build teams around her. Patch notes for the game say there are several balance changes with less damage from Ana’s biotic rifle, tweaks on Sombra’s hack and translocator, the inability of Zarya’s barriers to stop knockback and Bastion not gaining so much armor in sentry mode on the console. Express notes that some “Overwatch” fans may not be able to play Orisa right away because Xbox Live is currently suffering from sign in problems. The Orisa update would be available at 6 p.m. GMT or 11 a.m. PDT in which Blizzard would reveal full patch notes for the latest changes.
