Apple Watch Latest Update: Run A Game Boy Emulator On Your Smart Watch With This Software By Amrin Shaikh | Mar 22, 2017 02:35 PM EDT Software developer Gabriel O'Flaherty Chan has created a Game Boy Color emulator for the Apple Watch series 2. If you are a Pokemon Fan, then with this emulator you'll be able to get your favorite old-school game on your handy device. The software is named Giovanni after the game's Team Rocket villain. Gabriel O'Flaherty Chan was able to run "Pokemon Yellow" on his Apple Watch in the most innovative way. By using an existing iOS emulator called Gambatte, the developer created software that enables him to download the most popular game on his Apple Watch. The technique is every easy to understand and you can easily download it with your Apple Watch-friendly controls. The Apple Watch friendly controls include select, start and B buttons which run along the bottom of the screen. The A button can be activated with a tap on the right edge of the watch and the left just housing a control pad. The digital crown scrolls through option lists. Gabriel O'Flaherty even commented on his success for getting a Pokemon game on Apple Watch. "Since getting an Apple Watch last fall, I've been disappointed by the lack of content. I feel this is my way of giving back to the community," he wrote on his blog. Software and gaming developers are always putting up a lot of effort to create games compatible with Apple Watch Series 2 but few of them were successful because of the lack of content. Although the latest software Giovanni is also having bugs, it was created mainly as a proof of concept. The developer even open-sourced his content on Github to improve his software. The developer Gabriel O'Flaherty admitted that the software can be a bit sluggish and unresponsive, but the software was added on Github as a prototype, which might be the answer to possible questions for other developers. He even shared that he was inspired by a developer who got classic first-person shooter "Doom" working on the Apple Watch.
