Apple 2017 News: Company’s Mystery ‘Wireless Device’ Has Been Revealed by FCC

Apple is definitely one of the most powerful tech giants in the world today. That is why as they have submitted an application to the U.S. Federal Communication Commission (FCC) for an unnamed device, people can't help to create a huge hype about various speculations made by this.

Recently, it has been reported that the FCC revealed what this mysterious 'wireless device' is. Let us find out what the unknown item has to offer for the company.

According to Business Insider, the mysterious device created various rumors in the Apple news circles during the time of its application. The said unannounced item with Model No. A1844 has been submitted for approval. It was reported to be a low-powered device which has both Bluetooth and NFC wireless functionality. Last March 19th, the FCC published a user manual and photos of the mystery device. It is for Apple corporate use which seems to be a badge reader that attaches to a door assembly.

As per Fortune, Apple filed an application of the device with two wireless protocols that will be used to confirm employee badges. The Federal Communication Commission is tasked to evaluate and approve electronics before it can be utilized. FCC published the application with no specific mentions as to whether it will be for a new Apple product.

Furthermore, since it was the Cupertino-based tech giant who filed the application, the badge reader revelation for the mystery device is still open for speculations by the tech enthusiasts. In addition to this, since Apple is currently having its finishing touches for its upcoming Apple Park campus for next month, some speculated the same to be for their park and HQ opening in April 2017; while others believe that the device appears to be a door access system, as per reports from Engadget.
