WhatsApp has introduced a new Snapchat like feature in its app last week. The snapificaiton of text status has resulted in backlash for the application. The company has to revive its text status option while keeping its image based replacement.

This move reflects that the social app considered the feedback of its users and quickly implemented it to regain their interest. This even helps the company to improve their strategies, if they made a wrong step to adapt the visual communication. In the middle of February, WhatsApp just ditched the feature that enables users to send an away message.

Following to this, the company just implemented the Snapchat like stories clone. Those who are addicted to taking snap liked the feature, but those who are purely dedicated to text messages really disappointed with the WhatsApp's Snapchat like stories. Soon the company started getting feedback and it started working to bring back the old text status option for its user.

The text status reappeared in the Android Beta version of WhatsApp in the about section of profiles. You can check it right now. After reviving the old text status, WhatsApp clarified by stating that, "we heard from our users that people missed the ability to set a persistent text-only update in their profile, so we've integrated this feature into the 'About' section in profile settings. Now, the update will appear next to profile names anytime you view contacts, such as when creating a new chat or looking at Group info."

The company even stated that the About status will be available for all Android users next week and is soon available to iOS users. The Whatsapp users can open the about section to access their profile and text status and can view other people's profile and status by opening their contacts. Although WhatsApp's new Snapchat like feature didn't receive much popularity, WhatsApp is indeed the most favorite app for text messages.
