iPhone 8 Update: Design Specualtions & Rumors; To Be Called 'iPhone Edition'? By Staff Reporter | Mar 15, 2017 11:11 AM EDT Besides from the launching of the new iPad Pro and iPad Mini 5, there have been rumors circulating around the internet that the Apple will also launch the highly-anticipated iPhone 8 sooner than expected. The phone has been the subject of numerous speculations by various tech websites. With the rumors circulating more and more about the iPhone 8, the hype on the smartphone of the large tech conglomerate is getting higher. Despite this, Apple is still mum about the device, specs, features, and its release date. In line with this, the iPhone 8 is expected by people to come in a brand new size, facial scanning feature, and fast charging. Unfortunately, looks like one of the most anticipated design changes would not come true. Previous reports had said that the iPhone 8 would come with a curved OLED display. Unfortunately, the Redmond-based company decided to scrap this feature. IHS Market analyst Wayne Lam told MacRumors that Apple will instead have the flat implementation of OLED design on their iPhone model, which is kind of the same with the 2.5D glass design of the phone's predecessor. This could be considered as a disappointment for enthusiasts of Apple. The company's competitor Samsung will launch its flagship smartphone with the curved OLED, giving the more conventional appearance. In addition, there are also rumors that Apple will not call the phone iPhone 8. The Sun has reported that the phone will have the name "Edition" attached to the product's name instead. The Independent also reported that if these iPhone 8 name rumors would be proven true, the iPhone Edition will be the predecessor of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus. Hearsays are also circulating that the iPhone 8 or iPhone Edition will be launched at the tenth anniversary of the smartphone. So far, there are still no official statement from Apple about the iPhone 8. Stay tuned for this website to get more information.
