iPad Air 3 Release Date: 2 Conflicting Dates On Launch On March 30 Or April 4 By Vittorio Hernandez | Mar 13, 2017 01:02 PM EDT If the speculations about the launch date for the iPad Air 3 event are to be believed, two dates loom as the likely dates of the release of the new Apple tablet. One date mentioned is March 30 as part of Apple’s Spring Event. However, other reports point to April 4 with the event to be held at the new Apple Park Headquarters. Different U.S. & U.K. Dates PC Advisor believes the release of the iPad Air 3 would happen on March 30 in U.K., while in the U.S. it likely is on April 4. The tech website explains that when purchasing the 12.9-inch iPad Pro on U.S. stores, the choice of local pick up begins on April 4, timed with the opening of the new Apple spaceship-shaped headquarters. But in the U.K., the availability dates are March 30. Whatever is the real date for the release of the iPad Air 3, Mac Otakara blogs that four iPad Pro models would be released. These are the 7.9-inh, 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models. Three sizes would ship on March 30, but the 10.5-inch iPad Pro would ship only in May. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro would likely be the iPad Air 3. iPad Air 2’s Birthday The release of the four iPad Pro models would mark the 2nd birthday of the iPad Air 2, leading to questions from MacWorld if Apple would kill the iPad Air brand, including laptops. The rumors were preceded by speculations of an April event for the iPad Air 3 release and reports of iPad Air 2 stock shortages. It was accompanied by rumors of a March 2017 launch on Jan. 9, together with the rollout of the Apple Pencil. In January, Tech Radar wrote that despite rumors of the forthcoming release of the Apple iPad Pro range, it believes there is still room for iPad Air 3 being positioned as an option more affordable, while the Pro Range would be marketed to the higher-end of the tablet market.
