Android 7.0 Nougat Update Will Roll Out to Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Devices on Rogers Starting March 20

Canadian carrier Rogers Rogers will be rolling out the Android Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphone starting March 20. If you are on the Canadian network and you use either Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, you will receive an update notification on March 20.

The mobile service provider has updated the Operating System Upgrade Schedule on the official community forum under the heading "What's In The Pipe At Rogers?" As per the information listed on the forum, the Android 7.0 Nougat update will roll out starting March 20 with the current version listed as Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Rogers Samsung Galaxy S7, as well as S7 Edge users, will get notification regarding this update from the 20th of March when the rollout will begin. Users who do not get an over the air (OTA) prompt for a few days can also try to manually trigger this update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates, as per Droid Men.

Similarly like the previous updates, it will take few days after March 20 for the update to get reflected on your handsets. You just have to keep patience; you will automatically view an update notification when Rogers introduces the update via OTA.

In the details column of the Community Forum, the provider has only mentioned Nougat. Hence, you will be able to experience all the main features of Android Nougat after the successful installation of the update.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Nougat update will bring a new UI, several performance improvements, better battery life, redesigned notifications, and a lot more. In addition to this, Rogers will also release Android 7.1.1 Nougat update consisting of VoLTE support and security updates to the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, according to GSM Arena.

Moreover, Huawei Nova Plus is also slated to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update. However, the exact date is not specified and is mentioned as "Coming Soon." Rogers will also push security updates and bug fixes to Samsung Galaxy Core LTE, which is running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
