‘Pokemon GO’ Nest Migration On March 9 Involves Voltorb

Trainer Tips posted on Thursday a Public Service Announcement on warnings made Niantic against violators of “Pokemon GO” Terms of Service. He also revealed that the Nest Migration that day involved the monster Voltorb. The Next Migration occurred at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Pacific time.

Voltorb Stats. According to the “Pokemon GO” database, Voltorb is an Electric Type Pokemon that evolves into Electrode. It was first seen in a company that makes Poke Balls, although the connection between the sighting and the monster looking very much like a Poke Ball is a mystery. Voltorb has a Pokedex of 100, a Stamina of 80, Attack of 109, Defense of 114 and Maximum CP of 857.

Based on the ranking, Voltorb is ranked on “Pokemon GO” #206 for Stamina, #199 for Attack, #180 for Defense, #209 for CP and Overall rank of #214. Its Electric Offensive Type Effectiveness are against water and flying, while the ground Types are Super Effective Against an Electric Pokemon like Voltorb. For the monster to evolve into an Electrode, 50 candies are needed.

iMore recommends to “Pokemon GO” players who may need a Voltorb to go to a place where there is a nest change to increase their chance of finding that specific monster. Gamers who need candy from a specific Pokemon to power or evolve the monster would have greater chances of catching the Pokemon in bigger numbers that random spawns. Nests also bring players closer to getting their medals, whether it is a Fairytale Girl or Fisherman because going to a nest increases their chance of catching a specific monster.

3rd Nest Migration. Heavy notes that the March 9 Nest Migration, involving Voltorb, is the third to take place since Gen 2 of “Pokemon GO” was released. The next migration, which happens every two weeks, is slated on March 23. Although iMore points out that Niantic never announces Nest Migrations, it has always happened every two weeks at always the same time. It is always 4 p.m. PT on Wednesday or midnight Thursday UTC.

Meanwhile, in his PSA, Trainer Tips notes that some “Pokemon GO” players claim they did not violate Niantic’s ToS, but they still got a warning. He advises them to change their passwords and revoke access granted previously to third party IV GO and checkers. But, he agrees that Niantic’s stringent measures against cheating are good because cheating ruins the game experience for a lot of players, including catching Voltorb and other monsters they need.
