LG G4 & V10 Confirmed To Receive Android Nougat Update By Abe Narra | Mar 08, 2017 01:14 AM EST People were generally confused on what happened with various news saying that an Android Nougat will come to LG's flagship phone namely LG G4 and LGV10. Luckily, A Korean manufacturer just confirmed that users could finally have the highly anticipated update soon. Lee Min-hyung of Korean Times has reported that an unnamed Korean official has confirmed that the LG G4 and LG V10 will receive the Android Nougat update. He said the LG F4 will get the Nougat update in the third quarter of 2017 (June to August) while the LG V10 will have it earlier in the second quarter (March to May). Bogdan Petrovan of Android Authority reported that the update would mostly be available for users in Korea. They said that the update for LG G4 and LG V10 would be available after LG reveals details about international markets in the future. Just last week, The Android Soul has reported that LG would get the Android Nougat update for LG G4 and V10 in Q3 2017 only in Korea. It may be the South Korean's tech company's response to the strong criticisms coming from the users after they stated that no Android Nougat update will come to their 2015 flagship phones. AN LG official has previously announced to the public that LG G4 and LG V10 would not get an Android Nougat Update (both 7.0 and 7.1). The official concluded that giving an update to the smartphones mentioned would have a difficult time to maintain optimized performance. "We decided not to Provide Android 7.0 (7.0 & 7.1) update for LG G4 and LG V10. As a result of internal compatibility with the new Android system, it was concluded that it is difficult to maintain optimized performance," the LG official told Newsis. In response, users of LG G4 and LG V10 has pointed out that other LG product, the 2015 Nexus 5X, could update its operating system to Android Nougat. The three smartphones use the same Snapdragon 808 processor so users pointed out possibilities.
