Huawei Mate 9: New Update Rolls Out, Includes Fix For Google Voice

A new update for the Huawei Mate 9 is rolling out in the United States, a patch with build number MHA-L29C567B167 (B167). The update is expected to carry a lot of fixes with the most notable one being the issue tied up to Google Voice.

There are reports which allege that Huawei Mate 9 owners are experience Google Voice issues when used under certain carriers. It seems that some users running the smartphone on Android Nougat with EMUI 5.0 couldn’t get it to work. One user at the Google Voice Help Forum even tried to clear the cache and re-install multiple times. According to the user, it worked for one call and then disallows a user from dialing. It eventually stopped entirely.

Aside from the fix to Google Voice for the Huawei Mate 9, the drawer home screen display of the handset has also been optimized, Android Headlines reported. The group messaging has gotten added features as well, hopefully, to improve the performance of the device sporting impressive aesthetics and signature features.

Like most smartphones, the Huawei Mate 9 has not been spared from varying issues. Among these include problems tied up to the device’s launchers, performance issues, battery drain, connectivity, and software update-related problems. It wasn’t specified if the new update will cover the mentioned issues as well.

Regardless, Huawei Mate 9 users in the US are urged to apply the patch once a notification pops up. If not, the files can be downloaded via The Android Soul and then installed on the device.
