GM6 Android One Latest News & Update: Google Tries To Squeeze In Advanced Features With New Budget Phone By Joseph Patrick | Mar 02, 2017 08:56 AM EST Google has unveiled the General Mobile 6 (GM6) phone as the latest Android One device for the consumer market. It is one of the wise buys the mobile phone market would love to get considering it comes with features most would find in high-end smartphones in the market. Similar to previous Android One devices, the GM6 will come armed with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with updates coming straight from Google. Other than the software, the specs relayed seem sane enough for anyone to seriously consider. The GM6 will sport a 5.0-inch HD display and draw power from a MediaTek MT6737T SoC with quad-core 1.5 GHz processor. It will also have 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, a 13 MP main camera, 8 MP front-facing shooter and a 3,000 mAh battery, Android Police reported. While all that seems common, the kicker is the fact that it will even sport a fingerprint sensor for padded security. The GM6 looms as a worthy mid-range device with pricing and release date yet to be revealed. While the specs of the Android One phone seem impressive, most are reminded as well that the intent of Google is to offer phones with stock Android at an affordable price aimed at developing countries, Android Authority reported. There is no official word yet on whether the GM6 will debut in the United States. There was the previous word of plans to launch the Android One phone in the summer of 2017, fronted by heavy marketing and ad campaigns. General Mobile launched the GM 6 Android One phone at the Mobile World Congress 2017. With no word of an official launch in the U.S.market, 20 regions that General Mobile caters to are likely to get the first crack at the latest GM6 Android One device. The list includes Azerbaijan, Albania, Afghanistan, Belgium, Bosnia, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Iraq, Kenya, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Pakistan, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, NDTV reported.
