The month of March is off to a fresh start and this holds particularly true for Mac users. Apple is currently rolling out macOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta 4. This latest update was released Monday and marks the fourth beta of macOS Sierra 10.12.14 to developers. For those who happen to be such, this latest update can be obtained through the Mac App Store.

Mac World reveals that one notable feature in macOS Sierra 10.12.14 is Night Shift -- a feature from iOS that Apple will be bringing over to the Mac for the benefit of its many users. This feature changes the color temperature of a Mac's screen based on the sunset and sunrise of a user's current location. This works by having the Night Shift feature cut down on blue light the darker it gets in the afternoon or evening. This also automatically turns up the blue light when the morning comes. This latest feature was introduced to address some complaints that involve blue light messing with a user's body clock.

This Night Shift feature for macOS Sierra 10.12.14 4 can be activated through the Displays section of System Preferences. Once here, a user can have it come on sunset and turn off at sunrise. Night Shift can also be activated manually through Apple's notification Center or through Siri.

9 to 5 Mac writes that other notable features in macOS Sierra 10.12.14 4 include changes to Siri, Apple's PDF API, and Dictation support for Shanghainese. This latest version also allows a player to ask Siri about cricket scores, schedules and even player rosters. Siri is knowledgeable about statistics and data about the Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council. The updated PDFKit APIs also works for better displaying of PDS that make use of the framework.

As of this writing, macOS Sierra 10.12.14 4 is also available to beta testers. While its main feature is Night Shift, there are also some added upgrades that would benefit most users. There is no new yet when this update will be made available to Mac users in general.
