As per GSMArena, GSMA has named Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge as the "Best Smartphone of 2016" under the "Best Mobile Handsets and Devices" category at the annual Mobile World Congress' "Global Mobile Awards". The same news outlet has shared that Samsung's flagship smartphone has gotten even better when it decided to up its mobile operating system to Android 7.0 Nougat, a potent combination as to why the premium iteration has been well-received despite the Note 7 debacle. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco has also led to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's further admiration as most consumers have opted to swap their problematic phablets to S7 Edge's instead. It is noted for its sufficiently large screen, the dual-edge display and the massive CPU and RAM offerings. On the other hand, the only features most users thought S7 Edge was lacking were an iris scanner, a much larger screen, and the proprietary S-Pen. These include Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 for its two variants, a 16-megapixel rear-facing snapper and 5MP front camera, a 3,600mAh non-removable battery, a 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and a metal + glass built, as per Android Headlines.
