Although being dust- and water-resistant is usually not high on the list of specs that consumers require when buying smartphones, having IP Certification is still a plus factor when making a purchasing decision. South Korean tech giant LG is capitalizing on its upcoming flagship, the LG G6, being dust- and water-resistant to boost the sale of the device. Together with flagships from other tech companies, LG will launch LG G6 at the MWC 2017 next week.

2 New Videos

On Wednesday, LG released two videos on YouTube showing the dust- and water-resistant qualities of the LG G6. In the first video, there appears an outline of a smartphone on a pool with a girl swimming diagonally across with the words LG G6 showing at the end of the 11-second video. In the second video, which lasts for only seven seconds, the phone outline is seen on top of white flour then the video ends with the words LG G6 appearing on the lower right part of the phone outline, GSM Arena reports.

The copy for the first video is about taking a day off and relaxing at the pool with an LG G6. Even if the flagship would get wet or drop accidentally in the pool, the gadget has protection. It has the same protection against sticky items such as porridge, flour or dust. In case the LG G6 gets in contact with those things, the phone owner could just wash it away.

Other Specs

Besides these two new videos, there is another teaser in the U.S. that confirms the LG G6 would have a metal chassis, Droid Life reports. Actually, there has been a lot of leaks on the specs of the flagship that the video merely reaffirms what many people already know. Other than the sleek, full-metal body, the phone has state-of-the-art fingerprint scanner and two 13MP cameras.

The LG G6 would run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. The screen would be a Full Vision 18:9 5.7-inch display and storage would have a base 32GB of expandable storage and 4GB of RAM. The upcoming flagship would also have a 32-bit Quad-DAC similar to the one on the outgoing flagship LG V20, according to 9to5Google.
