Xiaomi Mi 5 Spotted on Retailer’s Website Complete with Specs and Pricing

Xiaomi Mi 5 has been all over the news for some time now. Followers have been expecting announcement on the launch since the third quarter of 2015. A report indicated that the company needed to wait for Snapdragon 820 SoC’s arrival and the much awaited launch did not push through last year. Announcement on the launch of the Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2 during the company new product launch event held in November 24 was made instead.

It was only a week ago, in January 6 that Xiaomi co-founder Li Wanqiang announced via Webo that the most awaited company flagship smartphone, Mi5, is now being mass produced and that it will indeed be fired up with the Snapdragon 820 chip. The release date, according to him, would be after the Chinese New Year, which will be on the 8th of February. Another source impresses that Foxconn employees are working overtime now in preparation for the release of Mi 5 on February 20 and a sale that will follow reportedly the day after.  China's Xiaomi Inc [XTC.UL] collaborated with Foxconn, a Taiwan-based tech company to start assembling the phablets.

Given these chunks of information, it is not surprising to see an early listing of the Mi 5 on the website of one of the largest Chinese resellers complete with specs, images, as well as pricing of the soon to be unveiled and flaunted by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun to be “close to perfect,” phone.  The phone on these images features a physical home button below the display, along with rather thin bezels. The power/lock and volume keys are placed on its right-hand side. The device camera and the dual-LED, dual tone flash are also visible in the provided image.

Other feature expected to be seen with the device are as follows:
