The Samsung Galaxy Folder: Samsung Rolled Out A Flip Phone Too By Staff Reporter | Jul 29, 2015 11:57 PM EDT Maybe the Korean Drama stars need better flip phones as props. Maybe feature phones just arenât good enough to use in K-Pop videos anymore. Maybe Senator Lindsey Graham inspired Samsung and LG to give him alternatives to the flip phone he got rid of in such a brutal manner. Or maybe flip phones are really just making a comeback. Samsung made sure that they also have a product to pit against LGâs newly-minted Gentle, and itâs already on the market: The Samsung Galaxy Folder is possibly the baddest flip phone to grace South Koreaâs electronics stores, so far. The Goodies and Big Guns: -Processor: 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor -RAM: 1.5 GB -Connectivity: GPRS, EDGE, HSPA, LTE, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot -Internal Storage: 8 GB -Primary Camera: 8 MP with autofocus, and an output of 3264 x 2448 pixels -Secondary Camera: 2 MP -Display: 3.8 inches -Battery: 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery By contrast, the LG Gentle also has LTE and HSPA connectivity, though available specs sheets donât specify whether the LG Gentle can host a WiFi Hotspot. Also, the LG Gentle only has 4GB of internal storage and 1GB RAM, and lower-spec cameras at 3.15 MP for the primary and a VGA camera for the secondary lens. Good enough for spontaneous snaps, or even âemergencyâ snaps of receipts and other documentation, but not as clear as the Samsung Galaxy Folderâs 8MP/5MP camera combination. If a user ever thinks to use their flip phone for selfies, the Samsung Galaxy Folder might be a better choice. The Samsung Galaxy Folder is said to retail at an equivalent of $250, though just like the LG Gentle, itâs limited to South Korean shores. Senator Lindsey Graham types may not get their hands on the new Android flip phones, but Korean Drama villains will be able to convey more dramatic moments with ending their calls, Android flip phone style.
