The data features an embedded Google map with a goal is to improve weather forecasting for everyone on Earth by dramatically increasing the availability of live data that describes the atmosphere.pressureNET Android App is available for free download at Google Play. By downloading pressureNET the user is a citizen scientist helping make weather forecasts more accurate. The pressureNET community is a network of crowdsourced weather sensors. The data is automatically collected from atmospheric pressure measurements using barometers in new Android devices. The app integrates sharing this live data with scientists and researchers to improve weather forecasting. This data is displayed on a map along with crowdsourced weather conditions (is it thunderstorming or sunny where you are? Tell us!) The company expects to develop new weather models using the data that pressureNET automatically collects. These models should produce forecasts that are significantly more accurate than any other method. Since the data is collected using smartphones, the app can gather way more data about the atmosphere than ever before. pressureNET shows users the raw data. The pressure data is displayed in graphs so that they can see both the users data as well as other regions' graphed over time.
